Vanity or Empowerment
Many of us have heard the phrase, ‘What you see is what you get.’ Typically, it is used as a statement of vanity or by way of explanation. But as the writer, Sonia of Advent, looks more closely at the words, her lens is shifted inward, and she realizes that what she sees for herself is the message she puts out into the world. From the new understanding she takes the courage to free up the little girl that’s been imprisoned inside her. In recovering the energy it took to keep a part of herself stifled, and giving it a voice, a greater clarity and richness become added to her life.
