Spring as a time of new beginnings, is also a time when religious traditions celebrate a victory over the darkness. The period leading to that triumph represents a time of stilled reflection and atonement. Unlike the waiting for a something yet unnamed off in the distance, it is a purposed waiting.

That qualitative waiting, charged with an urgency that at any time something important will happen, is akin to the type of waiting experienced by the leading character in Advent.

It is the voiceless undercurrent holding us to the pulse of an ever present state of alertness; uniting our attention as we wait for the threatening covid virus to pass; to arrive again at the freedom to walk under a sun that turns our energy skyward.

An opportunity for happier Fresh Beginnings for us, Each and Everyone, together.
